Dr. Wood is originally from Wilson, NC. He is married and his wife, Jean, is a Physical Therapist. They have two sons and will soon be empty-nesters. Dr. Wood is active in his church having served as a Deacon and on various committees. He has made several mission trips to South America and Central America helping to build schools and churches.
Dr. Wood received his Bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina/Chapel Hill and attended medical school at Duke University School of Medicine. He then completed his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. He is Board Certified by The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Wood has practiced in Charlotte since 1987 and was one of the founding partners of Midtown Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1990. He has been active in the Mecklenburg County Medical Society serving on numerous committees. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Department of OB-GYN at Presbyterian Hospital and serves on various committees regarding women's health issues.
